There has been a spate of criminal activity across the country between spring and autumn over the last few years.

Pastures are being removed from underneath the eyes of the farmer without their consent. This has concerned local farmers who are losing money due to the theft of their key to production, pasture.

The thieves, which are five of New Zealand’s main pasture pests, have been described as being very good at keeping a low profile and are very mobile.  But once the thieves have stolen pasture, the effects are obvious.

Working in large gangs and being very mobile means that capture or avoidance are not options.
